I go to work everyday, even when there are bad weather conditions.
I alternate my means of transport to avoid getting into a routine. Some days I go by car, others on my bike or the subway, on the bus or on foot… I usually return home on the underground, as the stop is about 15 minutes away and the line is direct.
One day I decided to return home, using a different station, I don’t know why.
When I turned the corner before arriving at work, I walked by a place I rarely go by as it wasn’t near to my house nor my work, just three minutes away was a bus stop… I don’t know why, but I asked if that bus line could take me to the underground station I wanted to go to…to my surprise that same bus line would take me directly to my home as it would change direction after a couple of streets…
After so many years of having studied alternative means of transport for my itineraries just to make my journey more pleasant and the use of my time, more beneficial, I discovered that, for some unknown reason, there was another way to get home, unlike what I had originally thought.
I learnt once more that we try to break away from routines, but little by little they set in once again forming part of our limitative mental structure. Routine sets in at a specific time or when we think that we can’t improve what we have already improved.
I learnt that listening to “that unknown reason“ leads us to the place we want to be… our heart.
